Muddy Bugs Outdoors provides transformative outdoor experiences that cultivate a love for nature and a sense of adventure. Our programs are designed to challenge participants while imparting essential skills in bushcraft, wilderness survival, and environmental awareness. With a focus on community and personal growth, we aim to inspire the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts.

Ed is an an avid hill walker, hiker, trekker, wild camper, clay shooter and hunter. He is a former Boy Scout and has previously held a position as a Sea Cadet Corps Instructor between 2020 and 2022 and is looking to volunteer with his local Army Cadet Force Unit. 

Ed is a Mountain Training England qualified Lowlands Leader and is Mountain Skills Trained. He is also a Duke of Edinburgh Accredited Supervisor and Assessor. He holds an NCFE Level 2 Bushcraft Instructor qualification and is a BASC certified and registered DSC1 Deer Stalker and Air Rifle Instructor. Ed also holds a number of outdoor and wilderness qualifications including: - the Institute of Outdoor Learning Approved 16 hour Remote Wilderness Emergency First Aid Certificate,  EFAW + F (Forestry Commision) First Aid Certificate and Level 3 Pediatric Emergency First Aid Certificate. 

Ed is a member of the British Mountaineering Council, Mountain Training England is fully DBS checked at enhanced level and is trained in safeguarding. 

Ed enjoys Geocaching and is credited with over 1100 finds so far. He has trekked across England (Peak District, Lake District, North and South Downs), Wales (Snowdonia and Pembrokeshire) and Scotland. Ed is a true outdoorsman with a passion for both learning and teaching. 

Before MBO, Ed was a Consultant Engineer in the Vertical Transportation industry and a former apprentice of the Port of London Authority. He started Muddy Bugs Outdoors as a way to change careers and live his passion for the outdoors everyday.
